New Delhi, dated the 9th January, 2012

STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Inspectors,

Subject: The retail vend of liquor by retail vendors under the Delhi Excise Act, 2009, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Delhi Excise Act, 2009 (Delhi Act 10 of 2009), the Law Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the retail vend of liquor by retail vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every retail vendor carrying on the retail vend of liquor shall make an application in Form B to the District Excise Officer within ten days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Inspector shall ensure that transport pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Excise Officer within ten days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
