STANDING ORDER
To
All Harbour Masters,
Subject: The salvage of vessels by salvors under the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Maritime Board Act, 1981 (Gujarat Act 30 of 1981), the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the salvage of vessels by salvors.
2. The matter has been examined. Every salvor carrying on the salvage of vessels shall make an application in Form 8 to the Registrar of Ships within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Harbour Master shall ensure that port clearance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Ships within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Gujarat.
