STANDING ORDER

To

All Station House Officers,

Subject: The sale of arms and ammunition by dealers in arms and ammunition under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 30 of 1999), the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sale of arms and ammunition by dealers in arms and ammunition.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in arms and ammunition carrying on the sale of arms and ammunition shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Maharashtra within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Station House Officer shall ensure that explosive substance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Maharashtra within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Mines and Geology Department, Government of Maharashtra.
