STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Directors,

Subject: The employment of women entitled to maternity benefit by employers of a maternity beneficiary under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978 (Kerala Act 20 of 1978), the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the employment of women entitled to maternity benefit by employers of a maternity beneficiary.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employer of a maternity beneficiary carrying on the employment of women entitled to maternity benefit shall make an application in Form 16 to the Medical Benefit Council within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Deputy Director shall ensure that return is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Medical Benefit Council within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Kerala.
