OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carrying on of a trade within a cantonment by traders within a cantonment under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment by traders within a cantonment is to be regulated under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crimes Act, 2002.

2. The matter has been examined. Every trader within a cantonment carrying on the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment shall make an application in Form G to the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carrying on of a trade within a cantonment is undertaken, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Cantonment shall dispose of it within twenty-one days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Karnataka.
