STANDING ORDER

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act 10 of 1953), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the sinking of a well on Government land by owners of a well on Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a well on Government land carrying on the sinking of a well on Government land shall make an application in Form 7 to the Board of Revenue within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that map is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab.
