STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Inspectors,
Subject: The retail vend of liquor by retail vendors under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Transport Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the retail vend of liquor by retail vendors.
2. The matter has been examined. Every retail vendor carrying on the retail vend of liquor shall make an application in Form C to the Government of Goa within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one lakh rupees.
3. The Excise Inspector shall ensure that permit is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Goa within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Goa.
