OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The storage of petroleum by persons engaged in the supply of energy under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Gujarat on the manner in which the storage of petroleum by persons engaged in the supply of energy is to be regulated under the Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person engaged in the supply of energy carrying on the storage of petroleum shall make an application in Form VIII to the Central Commission within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the storage of petroleum is undertaken, and the Central Commission shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Gujarat.
