STANDING ORDER

To

All Fire Officers,

Subject: The maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building under the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat State Disaster Management Act, 2003 (Gujarat Act 20 of 2003), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building by owners of a high-rise building.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a high-rise building carrying on the maintenance of fire safety in a high-rise building shall make an application in Form H to the Relief Commissioner within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Fire Officer shall ensure that no-objection certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Relief Commissioner within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Gujarat.
