STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Collectors,

Subject: The operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007 (Maharashtra Act 3 of 2007), the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a dam carrying on the operation of a dam in an emergency shall make an application in Form G to the State Authority within three days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Collector shall ensure that no-objection certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Authority within three days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Maharashtra.
