OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Dealing in wild animal articles by dealers in wild animal articles under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which dealing in wild animal articles by dealers in wild animal articles is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Forest Act, 1882.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in wild animal articles carrying on dealing in wild animal articles shall make an application in Form VIII to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which dealing in wild animal articles is undertaken, and the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
