OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the operation of a dam in an emergency by operators of a dam is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2007.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a dam carrying on the operation of a dam in an emergency shall make an application in Form F to the State Executive Committee within three days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the operation of a dam in an emergency is undertaken, and the State Executive Committee shall dispose of it within three days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Government of Maharashtra.
