Puducherry, dated the 20th December, 2009

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Puducherry on the manner in which the occupation of land by occupants is to be regulated under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 1 to the State Government within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the occupation of land is undertaken, and the State Government shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Puducherry.
