STANDING ORDER
To
All Canal Officers,
Subject: The extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters under the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (Kerala Act 19 of 2002), the Transport Department, Government of Kerala hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the extraction of ground water by person drawing ground waters.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person drawing ground water carrying on the extraction of ground water shall make an application in Form H to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.
3. The Canal Officer shall ensure that water meter is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Kerala within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Kerala.
