STANDING ORDER
To
All Tahsildars,
Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Labour Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 1 to the Settlement Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that register of holdings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Bihar.
