STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land under the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Estates Acquisition Act, 1954 (West Bengal Act 1 of 1954), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land assessed to revenue by holders of land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land carrying on the holding of land assessed to revenue shall make an application in Form 7 to the Tahsildar within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that mutation is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal.
