STANDING ORDER
To
All Labour Enforcement Officers,
Subject: The supply of contract labour by contractors under the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Industrial Relations Act, 1946 (Maharashtra Act 11 of 1946), the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the supply of contract labour by contractors.
2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor carrying on the supply of contract labour shall make an application in Form VI to the Labour Commissioner within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Labour Enforcement Officer shall ensure that register of wages is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Labour Commissioner within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Maharashtra.
