STANDING ORDER

To

All Circles Inspector of Excise,

Subject: The working of a distillery by distillers under the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964 (Goa Act 5 of 1964), the Revenue Department, Government of Goa hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a distillery by distillers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every distiller carrying on the working of a distillery shall make an application in Form C to the Excise Commissioner within ten days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that bottle is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Commissioner within ten days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Goa.
