STANDING ORDER

To

All Extension Officers,

Subject: The running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village under the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1973 (West Bengal Act 41 of 1973), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a rice mill in a village by operators of a rice mill in a village.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a rice mill in a village carrying on the running of a rice mill in a village shall make an application in Form 3 to the District Panchayat within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Extension Officer shall ensure that assessment register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Panchayat within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of West Bengal.
