STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955 (West Bengal Act 10 of 1955), the Home Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 12 to the Tahsildar within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that mutation is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of West Bengal.
