STANDING ORDER
To
All Naib Tahsildars,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bihar Tenancy Act, 1885 (Bihar Act 8 of 1885), the Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Settlement Officer within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that map is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of Bihar.
