OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The use of water for industry by users of water for industry under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Water Resources Department, Government of West Bengal on the manner in which the use of water for industry by users of water for industry is to be regulated under the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876.
2. The matter has been examined. Every user of water for industry carrying on the use of water for industry shall make an application in Form F to the Ground Water Authority within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the use of water for industry is undertaken, and the Ground Water Authority shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Water Resources Department, Government of West Bengal.
