STANDING ORDER
To
All Patwaris,
Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Land Reforms Act, 1960 (Odisha Act 16 of 1960), the Law Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 14 to the Tahsildar within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.
3. The Patwari shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within ninety days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Odisha.
