STANDING ORDER

All Conservation Assistants,

Subject: The running of a home stay by operators of a home stay under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Maharashtra Act 12 of 1960), the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a home stay by operators of a home stay.

2. The matter has been examined. Every operator of a home stay carrying on the running of a home stay shall make an application in Form III to the Competent Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Conservation Assistant shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Competent Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra.
