STANDING ORDER
To
All Sub-Registrars,
Subject: The letting of premises for marriages by licensed marriage halls under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Tourism Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the letting of premises for marriages by licensed marriage halls.
2. The matter has been examined. Every licensed marriage hall carrying on the letting of premises for marriages shall make an application in Form I to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. The Sub-Registrar shall ensure that declaration is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Marriages within forty-five days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
