STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The registration of births and deaths by registrars of births and deaths under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the registration of births and deaths by registrars of births and deaths.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registrar of births and deaths carrying on the registration of births and deaths shall make an application in Form I to the Registrar of Marriages within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that declaration is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar of Marriages within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
