STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The functions of a kazi by kazis under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Environment Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the functions of a kazi by kazis.

2. The matter has been examined. Every kazi carrying on the functions of a kazi shall make an application in Form VIII to the Registrar General within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that marriage register is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Registrar General within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
