STANDING ORDER

To

All Sub-Registrars,

Subject: The administration of a family settlement by trustees of a family settlement under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the administration of a family settlement by trustees of a family settlement.

2. The matter has been examined. Every trustee of a family settlement carrying on the administration of a family settlement shall make an application in Form VII to the Family Court within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Sub-Registrar shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Family Court within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Registration and Stamps Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
