STANDING ORDER

To

All Chief Commissioners,

Subject: The running of a hostel by hostels for students of Scheduled Castes under the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra State Reservation for Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018 (Maharashtra Act 62 of 2018), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the running of a hostel by hostels for students of Scheduled Castes.

2. The matter has been examined. Every hostel for students of Scheduled Castes carrying on the running of a hostel shall make an application in Form V to the Chief Commissioner within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Chief Commissioner shall ensure that facility is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Chief Commissioner within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra.
