STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The administration of the estate of a deceased person by executors of a will under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Finance Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the administration of the estate of a deceased person by executors of a will.

2. The matter has been examined. Every executor of a will carrying on the administration of the estate of a deceased person shall make an application in Form VI to the District Registrar within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that order of maintenance is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Registrar within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
