OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The placement of children in adoption by specialised adoption agencies under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Ports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh on the manner in which the placement of children in adoption by specialised adoption agencies is to be regulated under the Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988.

2. The matter has been examined. Every specialised adoption agency carrying on the placement of children in adoption shall make an application in Form VII to the Child Welfare Committee within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of children in adoption is undertaken, and the Child Welfare Committee shall dispose of it within ninety days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
