OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The ownership of a building by owners of a building under the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the ownership of a building by owners of a building is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Municipal Corporations Act, 1949.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building carrying on the ownership of a building shall make an application in Form B to the Director of Municipal Administration within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the ownership of a building is undertaken, and the Director of Municipal Administration shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Maharashtra.
