OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carrying on of a self-employed occupation by self-employed persons under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Labour Department, Government of Kerala on the manner in which the carrying on of a self-employed occupation by self-employed persons is to be regulated under the Kerala Headload Workers Act, 1978.

2. The matter has been examined. Every self-employed person carrying on the carrying on of a self-employed occupation shall make an application in Form 3 to the Welfare Board within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carrying on of a self-employed occupation is undertaken, and the Welfare Board shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Kerala.
