STANDING ORDER

To

All Sub-Registrars,

Subject: The performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Housing Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the performance of marriage ceremonies by registered priests.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registered priest carrying on the performance of marriage ceremonies shall make an application in Form III to the Government of Uttarakhand within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Sub-Registrar shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Uttarakhand within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Housing Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
