STANDING ORDER

To

All Probation Officers,

Subject: The placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies.

2. The matter has been examined. Every adoption agency carrying on the placement of children for adoption shall make an application in Form V to the Maintenance Tribunal within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Probation Officer shall ensure that succession certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Maintenance Tribunal within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
