STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of Births and Deaths,

Subject: The registration of births and deaths by registrars of births and deaths under the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttarakhand Uniform Civil Code Act, 2024 (Uttarakhand Act 3 of 2024), the Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the registration of births and deaths by registrars of births and deaths.

2. The matter has been examined. Every registrar of births and deaths carrying on the registration of births and deaths shall make an application in Form II to the Government of Uttarakhand within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of Births and Deaths shall ensure that inventory of the estate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of Uttarakhand within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
