STANDING ORDER

To

All Inspectors of Motor Vehicles,

Subject: The use of a private service vehicle by owners of a private service vehicle under the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1958 (Maharashtra Act 65 of 1958), the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the use of a private service vehicle by owners of a private service vehicle.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a private service vehicle carrying on the use of a private service vehicle shall make an application in Form 23 to the Transport Commissioner within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Inspector of Motor Vehicles shall ensure that trip sheet is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Transport Commissioner within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Maharashtra.
