STANDING ORDER

To

All Rent Controllers,

Subject: The management of property on behalf of an owner by property managers under the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Slum Areas (Improvement, Clearance and Redevelopment) Act, 1971 (Maharashtra Act 28 of 1971), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of property on behalf of an owner by property managers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every property manager carrying on the management of property on behalf of an owner shall make an application in Form E to the Housing Board within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Rent Controller shall ensure that occupancy certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Housing Board within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
