OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The letting of premises by landlords under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu on the manner in which the letting of premises by landlords is to be regulated under the Tamil Nadu Regulation of Rights and Responsibilities of Landlords and Tenants Act, 2017.
2. The matter has been examined. Every landlord carrying on the letting of premises shall make an application in Form H to the Rent Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the letting of premises is undertaken, and the Rent Authority shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
