STANDING ORDER
To
All Sub-Inspectors of Excise,
Subject: The manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers under the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Bombay Prohibition Act, 1949 (Maharashtra Act 25 of 1949), the Excise Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of excisable articles by manufacturers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer carrying on the manufacture of excisable articles shall make an application in Form G to the Licensing Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Sub-Inspector of Excise shall ensure that still is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within sixty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of Maharashtra.
