OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Finance Department, Government of Puducherry on the manner in which the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants is to be regulated under the Puducherry Land Reforms (Fixation of Ceiling on Land) Act, 1973.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 7 to the Tahsildar within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the cultivation of land as tenant is undertaken, and the Tahsildar shall dispose of it within one hundred and twenty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Puducherry.
