OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The performance of rituals in a temple by archakas under the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh on the manner in which the performance of rituals in a temple by archakas is to be regulated under the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, 1987.

2. The matter has been examined. Every archaka carrying on the performance of rituals in a temple shall make an application in Form E to the Government of Andhra Pradesh within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred and fifty rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the performance of rituals in a temple is undertaken, and the Government of Andhra Pradesh shall dispose of it within forty-five days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
