STANDING ORDER

To

All Defence Estates Officers,

Subject: The erection of buildings near a defence work by owners of a building near a defence work under the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951 (Maharashtra Act 22 of 1951), the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the erection of buildings near a defence work by owners of a building near a defence work.

2. The matter has been examined. Every owner of a building near a defence work carrying on the erection of buildings near a defence work shall make an application in Form G to the Defence Estates Officer within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Defence Estates Officer shall ensure that stores is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Defence Estates Officer within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of Maharashtra.
