OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carrying on of a food business by food business operators under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the carrying on of a food business by food business operators is to be regulated under the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021.

2. The matter has been examined. Every food business operator carrying on the carrying on of a food business shall make an application in Form E to the Licensing Authority within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carrying on of a food business is undertaken, and the Licensing Authority shall dispose of it within seven days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, Government of Karnataka.
