OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The carriage of goods by carriers under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra on the manner in which the carriage of goods by carriers is to be regulated under the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 2017.

2. The matter has been examined. Every carrier carrying on the carriage of goods shall make an application in Form D to the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the carriage of goods is undertaken, and the Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Maharashtra.
