New Delhi, dated the 13th October, 2022

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: The transport of excisable articles by transporters under the Delhi Excise Act, 2009, regarding.

1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on the manner in which the transport of excisable articles by transporters is to be regulated under the Delhi Excise Act, 2009.

2. The matter has been examined. Every transporter carrying on the transport of excisable articles shall make an application in Form C to the Excise Commissioner within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the transport of excisable articles is undertaken, and the Excise Commissioner shall dispose of it within fourteen days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
