STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputies Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The working of a distillery by distillers under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a distillery by distillers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every distiller carrying on the working of a distillery shall make an application in Form F to the Collector within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of twenty-five thousand rupees.

3. The Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that bottle is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.
