OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: The placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997, regarding.
1. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Law Department, Government of Karnataka on the manner in which the placement of children for adoption by adoption agencies is to be regulated under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997.
2. The matter has been examined. Every adoption agency carrying on the placement of children for adoption shall make an application in Form III to the District Court within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.
3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which the placement of children for adoption is undertaken, and the District Court shall dispose of it within sixty days of its receipt.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this office memorandum may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Karnataka.
