STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Director of Tourism,

Subject: Dealing in antiquities by dealers in antiquities under the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1960 (Maharashtra Act 12 of 1960), the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to dealing in antiquities by dealers in antiquities.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in antiquities carrying on dealing in antiquities shall make an application in Form VII to the Authority within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand five hundred rupees.

3. The Assistant Director of Tourism shall ensure that certificate of registration is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Tourism Department, Government of Maharashtra.
