STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Delhi Land Reforms Act, 1954 (Delhi Act 8 of 1954), the Law Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 14 to the Settlement Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
